Katie: Well, it's that time of year again: Mercury Retrograde.
Katie: Jim and I first talked about this topic all the way back in episode six. We covered what it means, how best to work with the energy and how to avoid the doom and gloom perception that often pops up with this time of year.
Katie: Fast forward about 70 episodes and here we are talking about it again. Imagine that we're revisiting a topic during retro grade. How fitting!
Light From Lantern presents: Knit A Spell. I'm magical maker: Katie Rempe. And I'm the maker of magic: James Divine. Join us as we stitch together the symbiotic relationship between crafting and 'The Craft'.
Katie: We already talked about the basics back in episode six, which if you missed it, I will be sure to link in our show notes for easy reference.
Katie: So Instead, we're going to provide you with a new tool, a short guided meditation, which you can reference during retrograde, or anytime you need a quick reset of the mind.
Katie: Since this week show is a little bit different format wise. We're going to hop into our break early, when we come back, we'll begin the meditation.
Katie:
Carla: Hands tell a story. Like a secret language revealing your inner thoughts and messages, the position of the hands and fingers can indicate what someone else is thinking and feeling.
Carla: The Palmistry Tarot Mashup is a fun, interactive workshop led by tarot author Madame Pamita and our very own James Divine.
Carla: Join these two experts as they look at the positions of the hands in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck and decipher the secret signals they're sending us. gain a deeper understanding of palmistry, tarot and human nature.

Katie: Welcome back. Before we begin the meditation please note: we do not recommend listening while driving or operating heavy machinery. For best results, listen in a safe environment.
Katie: Let's begin.
Katie: Find a comfortable spot where you can sit undisturbed and turn off notifications on your phone.
Katie: As you settle, take a deep breath and exhale fully.
Katie: If at any time you feel like closing your eyes, please do so. If you prefer your eyes open try gazing at a singular object with soft focus.
Katie: Take another deep breath and exhale fully.
Katie: Once more. Breathe in.
Katie: And out.
Katie: Good. Return the breath to normal.
Katie: We will now begin a visualization exercise.
Katie: In front of you imagine a bag. Any type of bag. Perhaps the bag has drawstrings. Maybe it's a backpack with zippers and many pockets. Or an open canvas tote with wide braided handles.
Katie: See the bag in great detail in your mind.
Katie: What adornments does it have?
Katie: How large or small, is it?
Katie: What color is the fabric?
Katie: How does it feel against your fingers?
Katie: As you visualize the bag see it opening and ready to accept anything that no longer serves you.
Katie: Fill your bag with any worries, stress, anxiety or other emotions you wish to release.
Katie: Shed these feelings. Making room for fresh energy within your body.
Katie: Your bag always has room. So pour as much into it as needed.
Katie: Take three. Deep breaths.
Katie: Return your breath to normal.
Katie: Notice your body feeling lighter. You may even feel a new wave of energy.
Katie: As you relax into this new state of being, you notice your bag is once again, empty.
Katie: Worries cannot exist in a grateful, hungry bag.
Katie: A soft, burp emerges from an inner pocket.
Katie: Now that you've seen and used this tool, it will be a breeze to do so again.
Katie: The more you visualize the bag and how to use, the easier and more helpful it will be.
Katie: Allow the bag to change to your needs. It will be even more grateful to help you in return.
Katie: As we wind down this meditation. Draw your attention back to the current moment.
Katie: You may now open your eyes if they have been closed.
Katie: You are now ready to reenter the world. Refreshed. Relaxed. And renewed.
Katie: If you enjoyed this meditation. Consider joining the Knit A Spell Patreon, where you can download an ad free version to enjoy any time.
